I have disliked Joe Paterno for quite some time, mainly because I thought he was very cynical regarding the way he conducted his football program. But never in my wildest dreams would I think him capable of remaining silent in the face of such an atrocity.

Could you link to the charges and let that data go through the filters here? ESPN has a PDF containing the formal charges against Sandusky. It's on the same page as the video.

Bob .... I'm not sure how to do that, but yesterday Mikey SDCA had a story from Penn Live that had lots of that info in it. Joe Paterno has NOT been charged, but he is still going to lose his job over this.

I was always watching Penn State from the Midwest, especially when the Bowl structure had the Big 8 winner playing, usually Penn State, in the Orange Bowl. After a fashion, and from a distance, I grew to really respect Paterno and his program. But you received news that would make the front page of the sports section. You're the expert on this.
He probably will lose his job over this--I think mostly because Penn State has to have some reason to move on. You can't have a 95 year old man coaching college football, which is what would have happened if the program was as clean as everyone claimed.
